Some countries are already on a very good way:

Norway is a heavy producer of renewable energy, first of all due to good resources in hydropower. Over 99% of the electricity production in mainland Norway is covered by hydropower plants.

During February 2016, an equivalent to 95% of electricity consumed in Portugal was produced by renewable sources such as biomass, hydropower, wind power and solar power.

For heavy industry areas, I am not sure if ever it will be 100% renewable but for the less energy consuming parts I am sure we will see more drastic changes towards renewable energy sources in the next years.
