Question: Mr Islam You said you have conducted extensive research into solar panels, is that your favourite energy generator? And if not, what is and why?

  Researchers in my group are currently conducting research in understanding and developing new materials for (1) rechargeable lithium and sodium batteries; and (2) perovskite-type solar cells.
  I don’t really have a favourite energy generator – but I do find the two areas above fascinating (and fun) to investigate. As I mentioned at the end of xmas Lecture one, there will be an ‘energy mix’ of different types of low-carbon technologies in the future, which will be important.
