      The first part of the question is actually very difficult to answer. We would need to measure the mass of the universe and this is hard to do because the universe is so unbelievably big. Even if we could measure it, the number would be so enormous we would not be able to relate to it.

      But the answer to the second part of the question is yes. In our universe energy cannot be created or destroyed (it just transforms into different types of energy)
